Belgium expels a Danish who refused to remove her niqab.
“A Danish citizen from Tunis, refused to remove her niqab, the police kicked her because she could not verify his identity”
The Belgian police expelled a Danish national who refused to remove her niqab, when she is landing at the airport of the capital Brussels. The Secretary of State to asylum and Migration, Theo Francken, announced the incident in a statement posted on its official Facebook page. “A Danish citizen from Tunis, refused to remove her niqab, the police kicked her because she could not verify his identity,” said in the statement. In 2015, the Belgian police arrested a Saudi in the streets of Brussels, and drove her to the police because of wearing niqab, and released him following the intervention of the Embassy in Riyadh. It is worth noting that in July 2011, the prohibition of the wearing the niqab (full veil) entered into force in Belgium, which began to impose a fine of 137.5 euros and 7 days in jail to anyone who did not comply with this law.
